I am Dana Robinson, a retired Baltimore City Police Officer with 32 years of law enforcement experience and a longtime Baltimore County resident. In addition, I am a registered independent candidate.        Write in Robinson for Sheriff

Baltimore County deserves a Sheriff who will protect the public, secure our courthouse, listen to our communities, and be accountable to the people.

I have developed a crime reduction plan to help make our county and courthouse the safest in the nation.

1. Strengthen Community Relationships:

  • Increased transparency and training for deputies to de-escalate situations. Enhancing outreach with senior citizens and ensuring mobility equipment is available in the courthouse.

2. Establishing a Comprehensive Youth Diversion Program:

  • Focusing on juveniles who are in the court system facing incarceration for non-violent offenses. This initiative provides judges with meaningful rehabilitation alternatives, focusing on community service and professional development through resume building, interview coaching, and financial literacy classes.

3. Increase Community Engagement:

  • We will hold regular community meetings and creating additional ways for residents to communicate directly with the Sheriff's Office. We will create multiple channels for residents, deputies, courthouse employees, and community leaders to provide ideas and raise concerns.

4. Community Appreciation Day:

  • The Sheriff's Office will give back to the community by providing free bookbags, school supplies, coats, and other essential items.

5. Strengthen Courthouse Security:

  • Modernizing security with the latest technology, including updated camera surveillance systems, X-ray machines, and gun and bomb detection devices. We will ensure everyone who enters the courthouse is safe, because your safety is our top priority. We will work toward appropriate staffing levels and create a Quick Reaction Force to respond to emergency situations.

6. Public Safety and Law Enforcement Operations:

  • We will utilize strategic patrols and community outreach to increase visibility.

  • I will partner with the Baltimore County Police Department to assist with neighborhood patrols and emergency response, effectively reducing 911 wait times.

  • I will establish a specialized Violence Intervention Unit (VIU) to safeguard high-risk domestic violence survivors and judges who receive threats.
